Core courses are offered at the traditional college preparatory or honors level. The freshmen program begins with integrated coursework in literature and composition. The sophomore year core coursework for all students is American Literature, and the junior year core coursework is World Literature. In the senior year, core coursework is British Literature or Studies in Literature and Composition.
Both sophomore and junior English core courses parallel the social studies curricula.
