The Design & Visual Communications Program trains students to become professional artists and designers. We encourage creative critical thinking, and strive to improve the technical skills of our students through a variety of projects, in several different media.

Among the topics covered in the four-year curriculum are drawing with various media, understanding color theory, painting, two– and three-dimensional design, photography, digital art, the nature and use of color, web development, multimedia design, digital video and marketing strategies.

Our curriculum, along with faculty advising, promotes artistic growth and introduces the concepts of time management, portfolio development, and employment interviewing skills.

Portfolio projects and written essays are also required each trimester.

Graduates of this program will be prepared to continue their education at a college level or obtain an entry-level position.
