Dance Club

Keefe Tech dance clubThe Keefe Tech Dance Club students cooperatively teach and learn new dance steps while creating a colorful dance show which will be performed at the end of the dance season in May of 2009. The type of dance learned depends on the interest of the students. In the 2008-2009 season, the students will be learning Hip Hop, Krump, and Latin dance. The season’s practices run on Tuesday and Thursday from 2:25 pm until 4:45 pm. The dancers are expected to show dedication and respect to their team and school while representing the Keefe Tech Dance Club. The Keefe Tech dancer’s are very excited about their new team and they are very excited to show the administration, teachers, parents and friends all the “cool” dances they have learned. As their advisor, I am very proud of their creativity, determination and exuberant school spirit.

Keefe Tech Dance Club and the Community

Keefe Tech dance clubOn Wednesday April 2, 2008 Keefe Tech Dance club students performed at the Callahan Senior Center in Framingham, MA. Max Ribeiro, a Health Careers senior at Keefe Tech, had the idea for his Senior Project to involve Keefe Tech students and his community. Max asked the KT Dance club to perform and teach some new dance steps to the people at the Center. It was a wonderful experience for both the students and the seniors. The intention was to teach the people at the Center some new dance moves but surprisingly the students were the ones being taught. It was such a success that Keefe Tech was welcomed back anytime. The students who performed were Tom Gibson, Heather Griffin, Francine Garnier, Josh Grigg, Fernando Pinero, Franchesca Doblado, Jahlieca Marcelini, and Carlos Flores.

The dance club was started in the fall of 2007. It is organized and supervised by Julie Westcott.
